Brian Allen confirmed as a speaker at Subsea Expo 2019
Brian Allen, our CEO, will be speaking at the upcoming Subsea Expo Conference held between 5th – 7th February 2019 at the AECC in Aberdeen.
Brian’s talk will contribute to the ‘ROVs/AUVs – Revolutionising Intervention’ session, which takes place on Tuesday 5th February between 14:00 and 17:00.
Rovco have been developing AUV and ROV 3D computer vision technologies and applying these technologies to improve the efficiency of subsea inspection. As the offshore world looks to become ever more autonomous, these technologies are poised to take over in the renewables IRM industries.
Autonomous underwater vehicle systems will be the future, completing the difficult and dangerous task of subsea infrastructure inspection. The title of Brian’s abstract is ‘Artificial Intelligence Powered 3D Inspection for AUVs and ROVs‘. During this talk, Brian will share Rovco’s available technology and plans for the future, guiding you towards fully autonomous offshore services, improving safety while delivering greater ocean insight.

Artificial Intelligence powered tools can help an AUV or ROV pilot accurately and reliably measure and navigate around subsea assets despite low light and poor visibility, simultaneously capturing the data required for precise inspection. Autonomous inspections will reduce project costs by offering faster data analysis through automated reporting, while enhancing safety by putting fewer people in harm’s way. Rovco is leading the way in developing Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and 3D systems and software for exactly this purpose, this talk discusses Rovco’s technology and how it is being applied subsea.
