Bristol UK £25,000 - £40,000 + pension
This is an exciting chance to join a rapidly growing, fast-paced, dynamic company working in the subsea sector. Rovco is a “robotics as a service” company, advancing the state of the art in subsea technology with 3D Vision and Artificial Intelligence. Focused on the offshore renewable energy and decommissioning markets, we’re making a real difference in the underwater world. We are growing a team of globally active professionals that want to work at the top of their game.
Based in the South West, regularly praised as one of the top places to live in the UK, the city of Bristol is culturally vibrant and with great transport links without the expense of London life.
This is a mixed office and offshore role. You will have responsibility for our ROV systems, piloting them when out on projects, maintaining them when not. You will need to have a good electrical background and the ability to fabricate as needed, as well as being comfortable working in an office environment with Microsoft Excel, Word or Project.
To be successful, you should be an intelligent, bright, self-starter who welcomes new and difficult challenges and always learns.
In a typical week you might liaise with our computer vision engineers, re-wire an R&D ROV to suit a new camera system, you might take a Falcon system out for testing to a local quarry, then the next day fly out with a smaller ROV for a quick windfarm inspection. You might get involved in tenders, project planning, spares ordering, and supplier evaluation. Working in a fast-growing tech company, you’ll be expected to exhibit a high degree of autonomy and will be able to research and develop solutions yourself. You will play a key role in our growth, while your position advances and responsibility grows as we do.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree or HND in a relevant area
- Have worked with either observation or workclass ROVs
- Experience with cabling and electrics
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office packages
- The ability to learn new systems quickly
- Confidence in client facing environments
- Knowledge of Seaeye, Sub Atlantic, or VideoRay ROVs
- A business or commercial background, not just a tech
£25k - 40k depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with time off in lieu for project work, and generous pension provision
